The bright lights of Albion Park Raceway plays host to a free family friendly event on Saturday, October 6, 2012 and promises to be a community focused extravaganza.
The Albion Park Country Fair is highlighted by free carnival rides, free face painting, free fairy floss, free popcorn, a horse expo, free petting zoo and giveaways. This is all available at the home of harness racing from 4.30pm.
Proudly sponsored by Kevin and Kay Seymour, Queensland harness racing’s most passionate supporters, the best news is the Albion Park Country Fair will be repeated on the first Saturday of November and December.
Harness racing action will offer the perfect backdrop to a jam-packed night of entertainment on October 6. The $30,000 Be Good Johnny Sprint and $20,000 Albion Park Country Fair Cup will feature on the nine race card.
TattsBet, integral supporters of harness racing, have offered an incentive to keep your eye on the formguide with $5000 worth of TAB betting vouchers to be won by patrons over the three nights.
Bring the whole family to enjoy the start of the rejuvenation of harness racing in Queensland at its premier venue. Standard TAB, bar and bistro facilities will be available from the time gates open and will be supported by an oncourse bookmaker.
Free parking is accessible via Cooksley and Bogan Streets, Albion.
While the event is ultimately free, the Albion Park Harness Racing Club (APHRC) does encourage a gold coin donation to the Brisbane SES volunteers who have taken time out on their weekend to assist with the community event.
Supporting the Albion Park Country Fair, the third Saturday of October, November and December will also feature Racino Fun Night, a free gaming night with poker, blackjack, roulette, money wheel, two up and live music.
Far from serious gameplay, Racino will offer an entertaining night with funny money and the chance to pick a prize from the Club’s display.
Not to be outdone, on track action will match that offered in the clubhouse with patrons on the first night of Racino, Saturday, October 20, treated to harness racing at its best via the $200,000 Group 1 Garrard’s Queensland Pacing Championship.
For more information on the Albion Park Country Fair or other scheduled events please contact the APHRC on 07 3262 2577 or email rdowd@aphrc.com.au...and don’t forget it’s all free.
