Licensing
Racing Queensland, as the approved control body under the
Racing Act 2002, is responsible for licensing participants in the
thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing industry.
including:
- New licenses via the licensing committee
- All license renewals
- License fees
- Colours
- Registration of Racehorses
- Registration of Syndicates
- Registration of Ownership
Racing Queensland has a written licensing policy which is
available on the policies page.
Essentially, any person wishing to participate as a
licensed person must possess a requisite level of integrity and
competence in their occupation to be granted a licence by Racing
Queensland. Information on the licensing process for each licence
is set out in the application forms
In light of the Queensland Responsible Gaming
Code of Practice and the Wagering Act
1998, a person under the age of
eighteen shall not be
eligible to be granted a bookmaker's clerk's
license.
Any person dissatisfied with Racing Queensland's decision
to refuse or revoke a licence may appeal the decision to the
Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT). Information
relating to the operation of QCAT may be accessed at
Queensland Civil and
Administrative Tribunal (QCAT). Any appeal must be
lodged within 14 days of receipt of
the decision of Racing Queensland.
