Nursery Pace

Conditions

Nomination form

The Nursery Pace Queensland's popular futurity series for two year old pacers commenced in 1991 when Almost An Angel took out the inaugural colts and geldings series for prominent trainer / driver Bob Morley and Grandma was successful in the fillies series that same year for legendary trainer / driver Kevin Thomas.

Since then outstanding horses such as Dunromin, Speed Ace, Biaggi, Slipnslide, Tip Your Hat, Lombo Pocket Watch, Sushi Sushi, La Speranza, Rhapsody In Red, Tupelo Rose, Fleur De Lil, Lady Euthenia and Aussie Made Lombo are examples of a few who have won this fantastic series.

The Finals in that initial year were worth a little under $10,000 each but the following year in 1992 the prizemoney purse was raised to $30,000. Continuing support and popularity of the series over the years has seen the stakemoney for the Finals rise to $100,000 for each of the Colts and Geldings and Fillies Finals and the introduction of a three year old series in 2011 with two $75,000 Finals.

The Nursery Pace was initially created as a spin off from the successful Guys and Dolls Series which began at Maryborough prior to being transferred to Albion Park.

This series has become the best value for money futurity series in Australia, with a once only payment of $385 (inc GST) to be paid by the notified deadline that retains the nominated horses eligibility for both the two and three year old series for which some $400,000 in rich prizemoney is on offer.

Any two year old can be paid up for the series, no matter where the horse was born or is domiciled, there are no restrictions other than the payment of the once off nomination fee.

Separate Heats and Finals are conducted for both Fillies and Colts and Geldings and all eligible acceptors are guaranteed a start in the Heats.
