Gold Coast
The Harness racing track is 1000-metre long. The surface
consists of a granite mixture, which is considered to be one of the
best racing surfaces in Australia.
Over $1million was spent on underground drainage, which flows
into a man-made lake in the centre of the Harness track. The water
is then used for
irrigating both tracks. As
a result, during the time Parklands Gold Coast has been
functioning, it has never had to use water from the town water
supply. So the drainage system has certainly proved itself
unique.
The Gold Coast Harness Racing Club is referred to as an
innovator in Harness Racing as it was the first club in Australia
to permanently install a sprint lane. The introduction of the
sprint lane was a great step forward, giving more horses a chance
to win or at least fill a minor placing.
Harness race meetings are every Thursday lunchtime and Friday
nights.
Once you arrive at Parklands Gold Coast you are fully under
cover and in air-conditioned comfort. Our betting auditorium opens
every race day, please check with the club for details. Fully
renovated restaurant and function areas in one of Queensland's best
racing club layouts with over 85 TV monitors and six widescreens

The auditorium features three sections, the betting auditorium,

of TV screens, so that the punter is never out of touch.
